Nissan to Recall Over 700,000 Vehicles

Nissan recalling some 768,000 sport utility vehicles worldwide repair faulty hood latches and electrical problems that could result in a fire. The automaker says the recall includes some 552,000 Rogue models made from 2008 through 2014. Snow and water can seep into the driver’s side carpet, causing an electrical harness to short. There have been reported shorts but no fires or injuries resulted. The dealer will fix the problem for free. Another recall includes 216,000 Pathfinders sold between 2013-2014. Secondary hood latches could remain open when the hood is closed. If the main latch fails the hood could open while the vehicle is moving. Nissan says some damage has been reported but no accidents or injuries resulted. The faulty latch will be modified by the dealer.
