A flock of Tennessee State Troopers descending on Coffee County today, dotting the roads and filling the sky in an effort to ease Bonnaroo traffic congestion. The Department of Safety extra patrols and helicopter traffic management should keep discomfort at a minimum as an expected 80,000 festival goers converge on a 700 acre farm just outside Manchester for the 4 day run. Transportation help trucks will also be posted along I-24. The 111 interstate exit is the designated main artery for Bonnaroo traffic. Other exits at mile marker 97, 105, 112,117 and 127 will be used as needed. Bonnaroo gates open at 8 tonight. Officials say they want a repeat of last year’s zero traffic fatalities for the event.
