Community Leader and Former School Board Member Killed in Auto Accident

A former Coffee County School Board Member and Hillsboro Community Farmer is dead following a single vehicle accident. James M. Sain, Jr., age 63, died late Wednesday afternoon. The Tennessee Highway patrol says Sain lost control of his Jeep Cherokee on Highway 127 in Southeastern Coffee County around 4:30PM. The Vehicle ran into a ditch and flipped twice. The victim was not wearing a safety restraint and was ejected. He died at the scene. Sain served on the Coffee County School Board for 12 years, including a stint as Chairman. He was a Veteran State Employee, working as Administrator of the then Highland Rim School for Girls in Tullahoma. He was active with the Hillsboro Homecoming Association. Sain is survived by his wife and four daughters. Memorial services are set for 11 AM Saturday morning at Manchester Funeral Home.
