Labor Day Gas Prices Lowest Since 2004

More than 600,000 Tennesseans are expected to hit the road during the long Labor Day Weekend. And they will enjoy the lowest fuel prices in more than a decade. The cost of a regular gallon of gas ranging around the $2 mark, the lowest Labor Day price since 2004. Last year Holiday Motorists paid a statewide average of $3.15. The State Transportation Department says it will suspend road construction work beginning at noon today until 6am Tuesday morning. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says troopers will be out in force over the Holiday manning sobriety and seat belt use checkpoints.
