Nun and Two Others Released from Jail After Defacing Nuclear Weapons Storage Unit

A Federal Judge says 3 Nuclear Protesters who defaced facilities at Oak Ridge’s Y-12 Weapons Plant have served enough time in jail, but are still responsible for some $53,000 in damage at the location. US District Judge Amul Thapar says the 3, including a Catholic Nun, will serve 2 years of unsupervised probation and has barred them from entering any Federal Nuclear Facility unless invited by the President. The plowshares protesters cut through 4 fences at the highly sensitive plant and defaced a weapons storage building in July, 2012.
