Jobless rates fell by healthy margins across all of Southern Middle Tennessee last month compared to July. The State Department of Labor and Workforce Development says Coffee County’s unemployment rate dipped from 6% in July to 5.4% last month. About 1,300 workers are without jobs. The Bedford County Rate rate tumbled from 7.7% to 6.5% in August. 1,300 are looking for jobs. A little more than 1,000 Franklin County reported jobless as the rte falls by .7% to 5.3% in August. Grundy County unemployment chopped from 8.9% to 7.2% last month. The Warren County rate slid from 7% in July to 5.9% in August with about 1,000 looking for work. Moore County enjoyed one of the lowest jobless rates in the state at 4.4% in August. Tennessee’s statewide rate for last month was 5.7%.
