State Officials Urge Tennesseans to get Flue Shot

Health officials urging Tennesseans to gear up for the flu season. State health commissioner John Dreyzehner says getting a flu vaccine not only protects yourself but other people as well. The flu vaccine will be widely available this season either by injection or nasal spray. Everyone over 6 months old is encouraged to get a flu shot. Officials say it is particularly important to vaccinate children the elderly and pregnant women. 9 Tennessee children died from complications of influenza last year. Folks are being asked to contact their health care provider for information about vaccine programs.
