Belmont Loses Bid to Host Presidential Debate

Nashville’s Belmont University has lost a bid to host presidential or vice presidential debates during the 2016 election season. The University was 1 of 16 locations under consideration for the contests. Belmont hosted a town hall style presidential debate aired on NBC in 2008. This week the presidential debate commission selected universities in Ohio, Missouri and Nevada as sites for 3 presidential debates. A Virginia school will host the vice presidential debate.
