TN Supreme Court Rules on Personal Injury Cap

The Tennessee Supreme Court has reversed a lower court ruling that struck down a law capping some personal injury awards. Tennessee law now caps none—economic damages at $750,000 in certain personal injury cases. A Hamilton County Judge declared the law unconstitutional. The 5 member high court rejected that ruling on technical grounds. The Supreme Court did not address whether the law capping damages met constitutional requirements.
