Human Remains Found In Munford Are Man Missing 14 Years

Authorities say human remains found in West Tennessee belong to a man who had been reported missing 14 years ago.

The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office says the remains were found March 31 near a road in Munford.

The sheriff’s office says the remains were sent to the FBI for examination, and the results showed they were identified as 24-year-old Demarco Antrell Hunter, of Memphis.

According to the initial missing person report, Hunter had dropped off a friend around 2 a.m. on May 7, 2001, but never returned home. Hunter was driving a blue 1991 Oldsmobile Delta 88, which was later found abandoned with the keys in the ignition and recently purchased food in the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the case as a homicide.
