Aerospace Testing Alliance issued reduction-in-force notices yesterday for 210 people. The last day of work for the affected employees is Nov. 30 at the end of their shift.
However, many employees already have employment offers with the new contractor for Facility Support Services at AEDC and will begin work with them Dec. 1. The RIF is necessary due to the realignment of work scope under the new contracts at AEDC.
This is the third reduction required by ATA due to reductions in work scope and three more are anticipated as new contracts start successfully. After the FSS contract begins Dec. 1, the next transition and reduction-in-force are scheduled for next year. The Base Communications and Information Technology Services start date is Feb. 1 and this requires an ATA RIF on Jan. 31.
