An endangered child alert was canceled early Wednesday morning across Middle and east Tennessee for a 7-year-old out of Winchester, about 88 miles southeast of Nashville.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was searching for Philip Izaah Whitten. He has been safely returned to his mother.
Authorities say he was taken by his non-custodial father, Philip Eugene Roberts, from a home in Winchester around 12 p.m.
Winchester police reported the two were found in Manchester.
Phillip Roberts was booked into jail and charged with misdemeanor child interference. He has since bonded out of jail.
