Former State Trooper Assigned to Coffee Co. Indicted

A former Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper assigned to duty in Coffee County facing multiple criminal charges following a months-long investigation. Brent McCawley, age 30, was indicted this week by a Coffee County Grand Jury. He is charged with 1 count of theft of more than $1,000 and 3 counts of official misconduct. A press release by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says the agency started investigation on allegations of misconduct in May.
