Gas Prices Continue to Drop, Natural Gas Following Suite

Gasoline Prices continue to trickle down across Southern Middle Tennessee. A survey shows many locations have dropped the rpice of a gallon of regular fuel to below $1.70. Area Gas Prices now at the lowest level since the middle of the great recession of 2008. Industry analysts say a world wide glut of crude oil explains falling pump prices. Gasoline at some locations around Chattanooga dropped to $1.59 per gallon Monday. Crude oil futures dropped to the lowest levels in 11 years in trading Monday before rebounding slightly to $36.31 per barrel. Falling Natural Gas prices should also help with heating cost this winter. Natural Gas futures plunged to a 14 year low in Monday trading as unusually warm weather dropped heating demand.
