Coffee County Commissioners have applied for a federal grant to offset the cost of extending public water to the Bonnaroo Festival site just outside Manchester. This after a co-owner of the Music Event says his group would be willing to foot a big chunk of the cost, the County’s Budget and Finance Panel voted to seek a $500,000 matching grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission to help fund the project, estimated to cost some $1.4 million. Bonnaroo says it would pay up to $650,000 for the extension. That would leave about $250,000 to be picked up by local taxpayers. The Tullahoma News reports Bonnaroo need public water to improve the festival site with buildings.
