Southern Middle Tennessee’s heaviest snow storm in more than a decade snarled road traffic over the weekend and accounts for school closures again today. Around four or more inches of the white stuff sifted down on Coffee, Warren and Bedford Counties starting after high noon Friday. Over the weekend local police, sheriff’s deputies and the Tennessee Highway Patrol worked dozens of fender benders on I-24, state routes and county and city roads. Above freezing temperatures helped road conditions Sunday, but overnight freezing will slick travel some this morning. Forecasters say today’s highs into the 40’s will do away with most of the snow and ice. Coffee County, Tullahoma City and Manchester City Schools are all closed today.
