Tennessee Lawmakers Considering Additional Abortion Restrictions

Conservative Tennessee Lawmakers will consider added requirements for women seeking an abortion. The House Health Subcommittee will review a bill that would require women seeking an abortion to sign a waiver saying they were given the chance to view the ultrasound and hear the fetal heartbeat before undergoing the procedure. Advocates hope the measure would discourageĀ some from getting an abortion. The bill is sponsored by Rutherford County Republican Rep. Rick Womick.
