County Commission Needs $575,000 for New Office Roof

Coffee County Commissioner’s say they need $575,000 for a total roof replacement on the CCAP (Coffee County Administrative Plaza) Building in Manchester. Building managers say the flat roof at the former strip shopping center leaks with every rain, causing emergency repairs and interior damage. A low bid for complete replacement came in at some $430,000 with a 20 year guarantee on material and labor. The finance panel wants $150,000 more to cover unseen damage and interior repairs. A five year capitol outlay note would be used to fund the project, which must be approved by the full commission next month. Current CCAP Tenants include the Mayor, County Clerk, Trustee, Register of Deeds, Property Assessor and County Election Commission offices.
