Haslam and Ramsey Disagree on Gun Proposal

Facing opposition from Republican Gov. Bill Haslam and the Tennessee Highway Patrol, leaders of the General Assembly have postponed efforts to allow permitted gun owners to pack heat on Capitol Hill. Blountville Republican Lt, Gov. Ron Ramsey favors allowing guns at the Capitol but GOP House Speaker Beth Harwell apparently wants to defer any decision until next year. Haslam says there is no need to allow guns at the Legislative Complex. The Tennessee Highway Patrol, the agency in charge of Capitol Security, opposes handgun carry at the capitol.
