Two Tennessee Democrats have introduced legislation aimed at preventing accidental shooting deaths in the Volunteer State. The Bill would make it a crime to “recklessly” place, leave or store a firearm that is in plain view and accessible to children under the age of 13. Memphis Senator Sara Kyle says 10 children died as the result of accidental shootings last year. She says many of the deaths could have been prevented if adults had secured weapons. There have been 21 accidental shootings thus far this year. 52 Accidental shootings were reported in 2015.
