Local Murderer Offers Items on Internet Auction Site

Prosecutors say they aren’t sure if they can stop a Coffee County man serving time for murder and cannibalism from offering personal items for sale on a shadowy internet site. Top Prosecutor Craig Northcott says it’s not clear if Gregory Hale can be barred from offering hair clippings and drawings on truecrimeauctionhouse.com. The site allegedly offers personal items from killers like Charles Manson. Northcott tells the Chattanooga Times Free Press it’s illegal for convicted felons to profit from book deals, but he’s not sure if that extends to items offered by Hale. Hale admits to befriending 36 year old Lisa Hyder at a Manchester Liquor Store in the summer of 2014. He took the victim to his Summitville home where she was murdered and dismembered. Hale admits to cannibalizing the victim. He is serving a life term at a West State Prison.
