Senate Sets Wine Vote Today

Legislation allowing grocers to order wine now in advance of the July first start-up is set for a senate vote today. This following a dust-up last week over a similar measure that would have limited retail liquor store ownership to just 2 outlets. Sponsors say wine orders should be taken now since it could takes months before wholesalers could deliver. Referendum voters in Manchester and Tullahoma approved grocery store wine sales in 2014. About 80 cities across the state will offer grocery wine sales this summer.
