Only a handful of democrats voted in Tuesday’s Coffee County primary election, but those turning out followed fellow Tennesseans in picking former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as their party’s presidential nominee. Unofficial vote’s totals gave Clinton 905 votes in coffee county. Vermont senator Bernie Sanders won 565 votes. Statewide Clinton gathered 66 percent of the vote compared to 32 percent for sanders. The Coffee County election commission says 10,769 voted in Republican and Democrat primary elections. That’s about 34 percent of the county’s total voter registration.
