TRUMP, CLINTON CARRY COFFEE COUNTY

Coffee County Republican Primary voters joined a statewide trend Tuesday, favoring New York billionaire Donald Trump in his presidential primary bid. According to unofficial vote totals, Trump won 2,318 votes in Tuesday’s G-O-P Primary. Texas Senator Ted Cruz ran 2nd with 2,194 votes. Florida Senator Marco Rubio managed a weak 3rd place finish with 884 votes. Trump won 39 percent of the vote statewide, followed by Cruz with 25 percent. Rubio, who was endorsed by Republican Gov. Bill Haslam and senior senator Lamar Alexander, won 21 percent.
