Jail Escape Fails

Alert deputies foiled an escape attempt by two Rutherford County jail inmates yesterday. According to a news release, the pair used improvised makeshift tools to pry out a window at the Murfreesboro facility. Deputies caught the inmates before their work was complete. 1 would-be escapee was in jail on 4 counts of theft and burglary. The other is waiting transfer to state custody for parole violation, evading arrest and simple drug possession. Both now also face escape charges.
