Gas Prices Jump 35 Cents


Southern Middle Tennessee Drivers paying more for a gallon of regular fuel than a week ago. Many retailers jump pump prices Wednesday by as much as 35 cents per gallon compared to just a week ago. Some outlets along interstate 25 in Manchester hiked pump prices to $1.79per gallon, up from $1.45. a GasBuddy survey posted Manchester’s prices ranging from $1.85 to $1.79 Tullahoma’s lowest pump price Thursday posted at $1.49. Stores in Decherd, Murfreesboro, and Shelbyville offered gas from a low of $1.49 per gallon Thursday. Cheap gas was $1.59 in McMinnville pump prices at many locations were below $1.40 at the beginning of March. GasBuddy reports Tennessee’s average pump price rose by 10 cents this week. The month ago average was $1.53 this time last year it was $2.21. Crude traded at $38.00 per barrel Thursday, up from a low of under 30 bucks in February.
