Grand Jury to Hear Case on Shooting Death

A Winchester man who has admitted to the shooting death of his estranged wife will face a Bedford County Grand Jury next week. James Hall, age 49, has been charged with the March 14th, 2015 shooting death of Kristal Hall, age 46. A Shelbyville Judge on Friday bound his 1st degree murder charge over the Grand Jurors. The Judge denied a defense request to reduce the charge to voluntary manslaughter. Hall’s attorney says the killing was a crime of “passion” after he discovered his wife staying at a home of a male friend in the Fairfield Community. The Shelbyville Times Gazette reports the victim’s male companion was not home at the time of the shooting.
