Wine Bill Approved

Grocery Stores in Manchester and Tullahoma can order wine stocks in advance of the July 1st sale date. This after Tennessee House members approved pre-sale stocking along with a provision that limits liquor store ownership. Several lawmakers opposed the 2 store ownership cap, saying it was a form of protectionism. Those favoring the limit say it’s aimed to protect small liquor store owners from chain-store competition. More than 70 communities approved wine sales by Grocery Stores during referendum votes in 2014. The new law also allows liquor stores to sell other beverages and food.
