Tennessee Lawmakers will reconsider a controversial bill requiring students to use restrooms and locker rooms that match their birth certificate gender. A House committee earlier delayed the bill for summer study. But now a committee member has asked to reconsider the legislation. Another committee will review the bill Wednesday. The Senate version is also up for study this week. Several other states have passed similar legislation despite opposition from gay, lesbian and transgender groups. Corporate leaders and sports team owners have asked North Carolina’s Governor to reconsider a bathroom bills passed last month.
