Decherd Woman Facing Escape Charges

A Decherd woman is facing multiple charges after she allegedly bailed out of a Coffee County Deputy’s patrol car. Allison Gipson, age 22, was being transported from the Judicial Center to the Coffee County Jail when she rolled down the rear window of the car and bailed out feet 1st near KK’s Pawn Shop on Hillsboro Boulevard in Manchester Wednesday morning. Gipson was detained by two witnesses until officers arrived to take custody. An eye witness from McMinnville she at first thought the escape was a prank. Gipson allegedly earlier failed a drug test required as part of her probation on unrelated charges. Shes’s charged with escape along with stealing prescription drugs from the purse of her probation officer. Gipson is held under a $28,000 bond.
