A  group of Nevada Engineers anxious to develop a new method of power generation has expressed interest in the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Abandoned Bellefonte Nuclear Plant in north Alabama. The Federal Utility decided to declare the factory surplus and set up the site for auction last month. Phoenix Energy of Nevada says it will bid $38 Million for the 1,600 acre site which includes unfinished reactor units, cooling towers and transmission equipment. All told TVA spent more then $5 billion at the plant before deciding ti mothball the facility. TVA says it will set a minimum price and bidding criteria later this year.
