More than 1,200 possible tips about the whereabouts of a missing east state child have been received by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in the past week. Nine year old Carlie Trent was picked up at her Rogersville Elementary School by her non-custodial uncle on May 4th. TBI Spokesman Josh Divine says the agency has been swamped with possible leads from as far away as Idaho. Gary Simpson, age 57, had custody of the girl until it was recently transferred to her father. The uncle by marriage appears to have bought clothing and personal items for the girl before he abducted her. Devine says Simpson is driving a white Dodge Conversion Van with peeling hood paint and gold running boards. There is a standing $12,500 information reward. Anyone with information about the pair should call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
