Tennessee State Park patrons may soon be able to consume alcohol at cabins, campsites and picnic grounds. Alcohol is now officially barred in State Parks except at Golf Courses and Restaurants licensed to sell drinks. The Department of Environment and Conservation plans to relax alcohol rules next month, permitting consumption at special events for a fee. The effort is viewed as highly symbolic, since parks make little effort to actually restrict cabin and campground guests from consumption. State lawmakers will have the final say in any rule change.
