Jobless Rate Continues to Drop

Unemployment rates dropped slightly in Coffee County last month compared to March. The Department of Labor and Workforce Development says the Coffee County jobless rate dipped by .2% to 3.8% in April. Grundy County unemployment fell by a half point to 5% last month. Franklin County’s rate remained unchanged at 3.8%. The Marion County Rate Dropped to 5%. The jobless rate fell in 90 Tennessee Counties in April. The rate increased in 2 counties and was unchanged in 3 others. University of Tennessee Economist Matt Murray says Tennessee is out performing the nation in terms of job and income.
